Co-organized by German Arbitration Institute (DIS) and CIETAC

Highlights:  On the occasion of the China Arbitration Summit 2019, a joint conference of both the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) will take place in Beijing on 5th November 2019, featuring a seminar on early conflict resolution and efficiency proceedings in international commercial arbitration.

Unresolved disputes keep businesses from doing business. Unresolved disputes are costly. The 2018 DIS Arbitration Rules have as their distinctive feature a focus on early conflict resolution. This includes different aspects and techniques. The idea is not new, and well established in both German and Chinese commercial dispute resolution. The exact early dispute resolution techniques though differ.    

The revision process leading 2018 DIS Arbitration Rules specifically took the international perspective into account and presented an integrated approach suitable for any party from any country who believes that the best way of controlling time and cost is not to incur them.

DIS and CIETAC are delighted to present their arbitration approaches and look forward to having a fruitful debate between German and Chinese arbitration practitioners.
